Smile FLM Tmaxx .21 chassis - 03.17.2007, 12:00 AM

I finally got my FLM chassis..... Thanks Mike for taking good care of me.... the wait was well worth it.

I was looking at the pics on here and my chassis and it is different.... my chassis says ICE on it. Is FLM doing their chassis different... or is it an upgrade?

Here's the pics.

I ordered it from here (Mike).... it took alittle longer coming from FLM but it looks really good.... I'm not sure if this is their new design or if it's an upgrade for the extra wait.... either way I'm really happy with the way it looks.

I found the 3.3 tranny doesn't just drop in... the sides are alittle thicker on the 3.3.... nothing a dremel can't fix.

I got the bulks and tranny bolted on.... but not after some shaving.... I used a knife and file (I don't have the steady hand for a dremel)..... mostly the tranny..... shaved the edges down and filed them for a snug fit. The bulks also needed some shaving to fit in the pockets on the chassis.

As of now.... I'm just waiting on parts to come in.

I got Integy aluminum Diff cases (for now.... eventually I will do hybrid combo bulks) FLM of coarse..... and the Integy Case/FLM Diff Cups will go in my other Tmaxx, with the O.S. 18TM.

I had some issues with the FLM diff cups not seating properly on the gear (there was some binding). Had to take them apart a few times before I got them to work. The extended driveshaft for the FLM chassis pits perfect and looks really strong.

One more issue I ran into (and haven't been able to fix) is the steering center link hitting the Integy diff colar.

Anyone running Integy Colars have the same issue? Do I have to File the colar?

option a - either grind of some of the link but that would make it week.
option b - put the steering conector(part that is rubbing) on the bottom of where it is right now. -(i am falling in love with this tmaxx it is the coolest one IMO because it has the right amount of metal and black and gray chrome

Here's the progress so far..... I think I'm going to have to do FLM shock towers.... and FLM bulkhead braces.

I haven't resolved the Integy Diff Collar issue:031: I'm too lazy to take it all apart again.
