Number of cells a 4400kv can handle?

I have a new motor next to me sold by Mtroniks called the "Sport Plus" motor with a kv of 4400. Its a 480 motor and I think made by Feigao (looks exactly like a Feigao from the outside with a Mtroniks sticker), I was wondering, if it is a rebadged Feigao, how many cells would it be OK to run a motor of this kv on? Mtroniks say 7 cells, but they waaay underrate the volts their controllers can do as well (my genesis pro controller on their site says can do 8 cell, I phone them up and find out it can actually do as many as the truck esc (12)). Curious if its likely to explode if I take it up to 50-60k RPM if its a Feigao motor..

The motor should be able to handle tyhe 50-60k rpms. The Feigao motors are rated for 50k rpms, primarily due to the bearings. I have had them well into the 60k rpm range with no ill effects.

Cool. If it breaks then I'll just send it back and see what they have to say about it.

Is it possible to take the bearings out a Feigao and fit better ones in?

And can you even buy 480 motors from Feigao normally? Only ever seen 180, 380 and 540 listed on sites.

In reality, the "480" you have is likely a 380 L or xl.

... or even an S can. They're still quite a bit longer than a 380. If the can of the 4400 motor is 48mm long, then it is in fact a 380xxS.

The can is 48mm long, I guess its actually a 380 s motor (why advertise as a 480? bit odd).

They have a truck ESC + Motor set, which they advertise as a 600 motor.....s'pose it makes the motor sound bigger and therefore more powerful, must be a British way of thinking ;)

Its common over here, typical example are the rubbish cars chavs drive around (Vauxhall Nova or Ford Escort are popular). Bigger exhaust == better, espically if its half the size of the bumper and has a "NOS" sticker above it. Oh and its not a good car unless its got about the same clearance ground -> bodykit as the typical height of a Clipper lighter. (1.5 - 2 inch approx).
