Loaded question, Mike! There are quite a few answers to this question. Ideally, i would recommend a slow motor with high voltage. For a 20 minute run, coling measures must be taken into consideration as well(for the motor). 6s Lipo (5000mah or so) and a1600Kv motor(or similar rpm motor) should get you to the 20 minute mark, as long as you don't gear to the moon and run big, heavy tires. For long runtime, get some decent lipos(don't need to handle terribly high amps, but lots of mah would be ideal). I think I could get close to 20 minutes with my dual PQ 4s 3100s in parallel with the xl2400 motor(it wouldn't be terribly fast, but could easily beat the brushed motors and hang with the Novaks). Maybe even witn the 2800xl.

I just wanted an idea , what do you think the estimated cost would be for the lipo's + a good charger. Also Have you had a chance to look at my pics if so is the quality okay to use here ?.

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Mike or serum or anyone who can answer this.

I know the 9920 can run nimh & lipo's. I would like to know do you have to re program when switching ?. I ask because i was thinking about running nimh cells in the qualifiers & get a set of lipo's so i can run in the 20 min mains because i have to run againest the nitro's.

No re-programming necessary. The Warrior has no cutoff or anything like that for Lipos.

I checked run time the other day. With the 2240/10 geared 14/51(same gearing that ran 54mph)and kokam 3200s. I ran the truck for a solid 15 miniutes. When I charged the batteries they still had 900 mah left!

Thank you,
Promod

No reprogramming necessary indeed. Please get something that warns you if the voltage drops below 3V/cell

Lipoly's lifespan will be shortened.. (don't take Promod as an schoolexample of using lipoly's, he 'abuses' them at about 120A + .. ;)

(how cool...!)
