1515/1y in Revo Lipo Battery Question - 03.14.2008, 11:36 AM

I am about to complete my 3.3 E-Revo 1515/1y MGM160 and I have a maxamp 5000 4s it I got awhile back that I know now won't be enough power for me. My question is if you had to buy a batt for this would you buy a 5s or 6s ? Will the 6s heat things up alot more than 5s that it would be a problem.. I tested 5s and 6s in my 3905 maxx and 5s seemed real good, but I just wanted to have the revo as my brushless show piece to wow people....also if I use 6s won't I be able to gear it conserative and set startup power real low to extend run times?

Buy a 2s and 3s - then you can have 5s, 6s & 7s as you wish....

I have exactly the same setup than your's, on 4s frlightpower 5000mAh, and this summer, i'll buy a 5s.
I think 6s is too much for the 1515,1Y, and this will push the component (speed, motor, and poor revo diff) to their limits.

I would run a combo of batts except I am just running one battery tray ...what do most people do just velcro 2 batts together on the tray?...hummm I do have two maxamps 5000 3s batts I can use....at what point does the batt weight start to have negative effect on the handling also..

I think 5000 6s would be ok - they are pretty light.

Yes I believe either tape or velcro together
