Question What else can go wrong with a capacitor? - 03.18.2008, 08:32 AM

I though something was wrong with my Mamba 25... I soldered on an extra cap (35V 3300uF low ESR) and it started stuttering like you only have two motor wires plugged in. I tried everything I could think of and nothing would fix it - desoldered the cap, worked fine. Put on another one - worked fine as well.

The cap is brand new - never used or plugged into anything before, if I hook it to the battery it seems to charge/discharge like you would expect it to.. What else could be wrong with it? I even tried putting it back on incase I'd done something stupid, but had exactly the same problem. The weird thing is the BEC and everything worked fine, the voltage across the inputs seemed normal... I just can't figure i out, and although its fairly inconsequential, its bugging me! :P

Dumb question, but was the polarity correct? Could just be a bad cap I guess...
