CRT's maiden voyage - 06.08.2008, 04:44 PM

I finally got my CRT pieced together. its obviously not finished yet but atleast its in running order. This is my local track thats about 25minutes away and its pretty nice besides that its alittle dry and rough. and if any of you are wondering I did put a beat down on 2 stock ofna buggies. they were the only guys there besides me, but they had nitro problems all day but when they were running I was killin em.
  • jammin CRT rtr with pro shock towers
  • tekno neu 2.5d
  • Rc-monster motor mount
  • 3s true rc 6400mah(going to 5s when I get the MMM. a 2s will go on the other side of the chassis in the nitro motor spot)
  • custom battery mount(has worked great so far. I was worried about the velcro but I have rolled it pretty hard a couple of times and it has never let the battery go)
  • Velineon esc(yes it will run a 4 pole)
  • 15/62(will probably go to a 13 once I get 5s.)
Im by no means a racer and this is only my 2nd time to the track, and im even running badlands. tell me what you think

Clearly you are an intellgent individual that has obviously come to this forum to learn and or provide some advice to people who need it. Your attitude and foul mouth are not really needed, so if this is the kind of thing that your going to post i think most would rather that you didn't post anything at all.

Dirt101 - Looks good and i'm suprised that the Velineon didn't have any heat issues. What were the temps?

Looks good. Nice driving. Was there any nitro guys there or were they afraid to hit the track ?

I believe he was joking around because he knows dirt101 personally, seeing as how he called him by his real name...

Still, there is no need for that type of language. You need to edit your post accordingly or it will be deleted.

Yeah hes a good bud of mine. I called him and told him to change it and I bet he will next time he gets on.

there were some nitro guys out there, but they were having problems with there weird sounding motors. never hear sounds like that coming out of my neu. They came out on the track a couple of times and I whooped up on them. thanks on the driving comment.

batteries were about 105, esc was 150-155, and my motor was 125-130. and im getting really long runtimes on my 6400mah 3s. ambient temp was 96 and humid.

I'm surprised it was so quick on 3s. It'll probably be too much on 5s!

I was to thats why I plan to gear it down some more. I have plenty of room with the 62t spur(note that I trimmed a tab off of the single servo mount already) im going to go to a 12 or 13t pinion. cant decide quite yet. probably a 12 as I dont want any heat problems, and I love runtime.

im building a track next door, and I have been working on it for a couple of days now. I will get some pics up soon. So far the CRT has been great, but its alot heavier than I had wanted it to be. it was 9.5lb in nitro form and with my 3s setup is 9.6lbs. 5s will put me over 10lbs, but oh well the thing is built like a tank, and will putting down more power than I need. and a 320o/z servo I got in there doesnt have any trouble as it will turn the servo saver before it stalls.
