Question What charger? - 07.23.2008, 03:16 PM

ok that is it. after reading this thread http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...t=13726&page=2 i decided to get another charger before mine actually fails, what do recommend i get. I need 6s support and being i already have a FP V-Balancer and all my batts have TP taps i need either a conversion which i can get. Just mainly like the idea of the one Hyperion charger that can display each cell voltage using the LBA10. Let me know what you all think.

thinking of this one - http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...OS1210iCharger
But what PS do you rec. I have a PC PSU that i will check the wattage on tonight.
I will also buy the LBA10 eventually because i can see status of the battery on the charger in digital form. Let me know what you all think.

I use the Ofna 14v 18 amp PS. What ever PS you use make sure it outputs clean power ( switching cc/cv)

ok correction. I think i will get this one here - http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/20720
This seems to pack a ton of power and really like the 2 chargers in one kind of thing. This will be really efficient for me Has 2 LBA10's built in and i can buy this adapter for all my TP packs - http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/18243 then i just need a PSU.

I just got that one, I like it. I have a 20 amp (350w) pc power supply and I was able to charge 2 trc 8000ma 7.4v packs at the same time ....

If you are considering cost, the Duo is nothing more than two 0610i's in one package. You could buy one of those, and another one down the road.....

I have the duo and love it - but I need the ability to charger two packs at once.

Losi 8T 1.0, Savage Flux - XL style, LST XXL, Muggy, 3.3 E-Revo Conversion and sitting outside 425hp, 831 Tq Dodge Ram Turbo Diesel. It SMOKES

About 6mos ago I bought the 0610i as a 2nd charger along with an Ice charger for doing 2 batts at once. I run them both with a ProPeak 20a PS and I've never come close to taxing it. Its a 13.8v about 275watts and was $59.95 new. The 0610i is a great charger, really happy with it.

But, now I seem to be getting more into lipos and wish I had bough the Duo for a lot of reasons, mainly because it would have been cheaper up front than adding a 2nd 0610i like I'm faced with now to let me network charge batts to run together as parallel pacs. Real important if you're into elect planes.

I guess my advice is to consider your future needs and see if your choice will take care of where you might be in 6months to a year as this side of teh hobby evolves.

i am really thinking just buying 2 of the 250w 610i (one for now) And you can still link those together to get 2 pack support. BUT.. it will be more overall cost but less initial cost. What would you guys do. I really do not need that kind of power jsut want it just in case.

http://www.maxamps.com/EOS0606i-AC-DC.htm

I own two of these which is cheaper than the duo when you factor in the PS and does the same thing. I also like having two chargers in case one was to fail for any reason. These can also be networked together to balance two packs together like the duo does as well.

B-P-P.com usually has free shipping for that same price and 8.99 is pricey for that adapter, its usually 6.99 at other on line retaliers...I have the adapter and it works good...
I have the single 0610i and love it

The 610i is 250watt out and the duo is less then that on a single channel. I don't know what pack I'm going to charge at 11amps but i'm sure I'll find something.

Savage: FLM Conversion, 6s, MMM, CC 1520.
Mini-T Pro: Micro Pro 6800kv, Lipo, HS-81mg, Dirt Hawgs
M18MT: Quark 33A, Y22S 6000kv, FP 2s Lipo
LRP S8-BX: RC-M Conversion, Tekin RX8 B1600KV, 6S.

I have the 0610i and I wish I bought the duo right off the bat. If you buy the 0610i now and buy another in the future, remember that you'll be needing another power supply unless the ps you have have 2 outputs.

Castle Neu 1520 on 6S LiPo Powered Gmaxx (Nitro Killer)
Predator with OS .21TM
Supermaxx with Mach .26
Revo with OS .18TZ
Kyosho ST-RR Conversion
Ofna CR with Tekin ESC/Motor (2)

Well thank you all for the input. I have decided that i will get the single version with more power for now and get a second later on. I realize i will have to get a second psu but down the line it will be ok. And a point was brought up if one fails i still have one at least and i like the idea of that. Oh and thanks for the B-P-P hint. I forgot all about them. Wish mike carried the 250w hyperion and the adapter. Now i imagine i could possibly run both chargers off of a 500w 2 x 20a 12v rails. One charger on each rail. Only bringing this up because i already have one of these laying around. If this will not work you guys suggest at least 15a for each charger???? Or could i go less or have to go higher. Not sure how to figure out what i need to look for in the PSU. A formula to figure out a min would be great. thanks again guys. As usual you were all very very helpful.
