just curious, i remember to keep nimh in tip top shape, you should only charge and use them once a day. does this apply to lipos as well? if not, how many charges max a day to keep them in very good condition?

as far as I know there is no I'll effects of multiple charges per day. Just let them cool a bit in between running and charging and you should be just fine.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

ok thats good to hear. i was even a little skeptical charging the pack twice in a day. cus for some reason, my truck seemed a lil faster when i charged it the next day instead of charging the pack the same day i ran it, but used the pack the next day.
ok what about this question, is it the exact same thing if i was to fully drain and then charge vs half drained and then fully charge? i feel as if tho i was to fully drain and then charge would be better punch or power because its all new juice being charged, instead of old juice and then mixed in with some new juice.

I've also felt like multiple charges per day were not giving me the same performance. In all fairness, my packs are getting a little old but the second charge doesn't seem to deliver the same level of performance as the first.

i thought i was just seeing things. maybe it is true. im using decent lipos too. another thing i noticed also is the first 5 mins is also more powerful than the rest of the pack till it dies. and i kinda think 75% through the pack, its not as powerful as well. and my lipos really decrease in power for like 5 mins before lvc. i thought lipos were suppose to have the same power till right before lvc?
i have the hard case 25/50c 5k neu energy lipos with about 25 runs

Whats your pacs temp history like? Ever gotten them hot?

I run a pr of neu 2S 5ah and don't see the same thing - there may be a little drop initially but from there, they seem to be pretty steady until shortly before lvc kicks in.

How long do you wait to recharge them after you have run them?

this is a good question, and how hot do lipos usually get when racing them? eg a 6 minute race...

thanks - the best thing with a123 is they are barely warm but take forever to cool down to ambient (almost 40 minutes) which is fine i just charge them at 10A again and overall they cool down! but lipos, i can only afford 1 at this stage andcharging at 4A seems slow!

they never reached over 100 degrees. i usually wait like 9 hours before i charge them again. and on my charger it says the lipos stilll has 6.9 volts so i know theyre not under the voltage either.

IMO as long as th pack is cool to the touch you should be good to go as far as charging

i love my electronics.. when it comes to lipos, i normally have two of the same kind so that i can give the packs a good 2-3hr (the more the better) break in between. Draining those lipos puts a lot of stress on the cells. So IMO threat it like a baby to increase its life span.

What makes you think it change anything at all? Where did you hear one should wait 2-3 hrs, and the more the better? just asking your source...

Take A123 cells, I charge them @ 10Amps, discharge them up to more than 100Amps, I don't wait between charges, discharge them totally flat... I put a lot of stress on them yet they just seem to not care at all. Baby-sitting cells just because it "feels better" only lead to a total waste of time/money/effort, where it is irrelevant.

Flyers will tell you that using more than 80% of lipo cells capacity, storing them fully charged in a warm place is a LOT harder on the cells than cycling them several times a day.

I've been doing some testing with an airthunder 4S 5000mah. I have some headlights setup that will drain it dead in under 10 mins. I drain then charge(after it's cool) about 5 times in a day and noticed the mah drop off about 300 by the end charge. I let it sit over night fully charged and the first discharge and charge the mah are right back up within 20mah of the previous day. Also I notice it will hold over 16v for a good 30 seconds on the first and second cylce. After that the volts drop below 16v right after I connect it.

Just some things I've gathered.
