which BL motor should I use (3 choices) - 09.07.2008, 11:30 PM

I'm wanting to go as close to 50mph as possible in my electric 4-tec with gearing that will keep motor temps in check. What motor would be best for me? I will be using a 2s lipo (not sure on the capacity or brand yet)

I got a cms7700 motor that might work for you at half the price of the ones listed. I don't know what kind of gears the 4-tec run or you have. Maybe someone that knows more about it could tell you if the 7700 would work for you. From my understanding that what the 7700 was designed for vs off 1/10th off road.

I would get a 4.5 version orion motors you were thinking of or even better, a tekin redline sensored motor or a novak motor which have ribbed cans for even better heat disapation. Castle creations and similar motors have wide rotors and will lack the snap that the motors I suggested have. Has anyone ever tried a neu 1506 in a 1/10 touring car? Efficient yes, but not something I would spend nearly 200 bucks on since it doesn't even have solder tabs and may not even fit in your car because of the wider diameter. I haven't heard of any heat problems even with novaks 3.5 and 4.5 motors.
