8ight-e (tekno) w/ Medusa v2 60mm 2000kv Neu or Maxamps lipos?? - 09.23.2008, 07:27 PM

Ok... So Im running my 8ight w/ the tekno v3 conversion, currently with a mamba max esc and a medusa v2 60mm 2000kv motor and 4s lipo's. I want to pick up a 4s single pack and I have two choices.

1) Neu Energy 25c 5000mAH 4s (little or no warranty)
2) Maxamps 20c 6000mah 4s2p w/ 3yr/300 cycle warranty

Same exact price.. so the question is will the MA 6k hold up to the draw of this system w/o a puff.

Thanks

all i know is NEU use the best cells (i.e. no need for warranty...)
not going to comment on the other one as im sure alot of people will...

anyway have you looked at the zippy packs? they are much cheaper. 4s 4800mah is 75 bucks.

6000mAH is a lot of run time.. may even make it through a long a-main, 5k packs just make 20minutes tops.. the 6k packs should hold out I would think for a 30min a-main.

If a 5k pack does 20mins, a 6k pack will do 24mins...

Best to look for a pack that holds voltage better, it will have better runtime. I tested maxamps 5s 5k packs again an enerland 3700 25c 5s pack. No runtime difference, and a noticable increase in power from the enerland pack.

I would go for the Neu pack, it will perform better despite the spec. If you do buy the maxamps, the warranty is mandatory. You many also want to buy 2-4 maxamps packs, that way you should always have at least one that is not in the mail being returned...
