The black finned Feigao 540 XL ?? - 10.04.2008, 06:35 AM

Does anyone know if it is still possible to buy the black finned Feigao XL motors anymore ? And who could have them in stock ?

Starluckrc.com and RCM used to have them. But not anymore....

Regards

I havent seen them around lately. I have had good success with the smooth can motor and the Novak heatsink. I noticed temps drop pretty good with just that upgrade. Its also much beafier than the heatsink that comes with the finned motors.

A lot of guys also run the RCM heatsink that keeps the ends from popping off. That helps keep the motor together and gets rid of some heat. THat can only work with the smooth can motor too.

I havent seen any of the black ones either . I think its b/c they have a new motor out that is bolted and finned like the hackers. Try those

I have. Works well enough, pretty much the same as a normal feigao, only more solid. The fins help it cool down quicker, but dont excede ~180*F as per usual.

Yeah there is a few threads about them on here. I just worried about how long it might take to get it. Shipping is only like $7.00????????? So I guess its not to far away?? I hope. I am looking at getting one of these for my brotherinlaw to put in the esavage that I gave him. I killed the feigao 10l that was in it by overheaing it and put a magnet from a 7xl in it until I can get him a new one. It works with the bigger magnet but it gets hot quicker.

Well maybe I should try one as well. Wich one should I get - there seems to be different ones. If it was the Feigao I would get a 7 or 8XL.´(it´s for an E-Revo with 4s lipo and MM ot MMM when it´s issues are worked out.)

Shipping takes about 10-14 days.

Treat them exactly like a feigao- you would want the 8XL or 9XL for 4s lipo use, I recommend the 9XL (1845kv) these days, the 8XL is a little hot, the 7XL should only be used in a boat with water cooling...
