Brushlessboy16 mocked up a design and mike was looking at it. You don't need it for a hyper ST pro though.

You can rotate the RCM mount and put the motor opposite the servo. This enables you to put twin packs at the back - I'm swapping mine to this layout at the moment and will post pics at the weekend.

Does the spur still clear the chassis if you run the motor at the front like that? or do you have to dremel out a new slot? Would this compromise the chassis rigidity significantly? I also want to do this for battery mounting purposes.

The stock spur on a hyper st is 51 - I'm dropping to a buggy spur 46T so clearnance with chassis will not be an issue (no dremmeling). Retaining a 51 would mean some use of the dremel but don't think enough to cause an issue...

Yes the "regular" RCM hyper mount fits the ST with no mods.

My hb truggy has 50t stock i think, and I run the diff supports from it and the lsp motor mount, still wont fit in backwards with the 46t :( just a fraction a mill too low.

I tried it today and it doesn't work :( - The front brace stops the motor 1515 mounting properly...

Anyone need a 46 centre spider diff! Arg

just wanted to show you that its possible to mount motor in front, just need to use bigger gears.
i have 51t in spider and 12t in motor, cant use any smaller with brakes, it allready needs smaller brake disc, as its rubbing on it.

theres less than 3mm betwene motor and brace.
with 51t spurgear, motormount needs few washers underneath, to clear.

Yeah, but Arct1k is using a Neu 1515, which is about 44mm in diameter, while the motor in the pic above is probably the typical 36mm.

How about removing the front brace and using a custom piece of aluminum between the center diff and front diff? Should allow room for the motor. Then, you have have to remove the brake, or use a thick plate (spacer) between the motor and mount to allow room for the brake parts...

It was actually slightly bigger - The finned section is 48+ and the main body about 44.

If I removed the red section it would have fitted - My cars tend to get a reasonable about of track abuse (i.e. bad driver) and hence I wasn't to keen to change the brace...

I kinda like the top-plate brace scheme (which is why my last 2 conversions used it I guess). It makes the car far more rigid than with the stock braces, provides more support for the motor mount/center diff, and provides a couple extra places to mount stuff. Of course, it's not as pretty...

I did that on my GTP 2 but not sure I'd want it on the truggy - 2 packs one side seems to work ok on the ST anyway...

With the 1515 1Y on 4s the 51 spur helps with the gearing anyway...
