monster with newest update+6pole motor= fail - 10.26.2008, 11:15 PM

so i updated my monster max last night with the newest firmware and took my align 600xl powered hotbodies lightning evo buggy out for a run

now any time i go from hard brake to full throtle it stumbles and coggs before going

whats the deal, its only geared to go 35mph, so everything stays cool

this wasnt a problem before the update, any ideas as to what i can do to fix it?

Thats interesting, although my setup is different from yours, Feigio 8xl running in a Savage, I had cogging before the update and none after. Accel is very smooth now and response is great. Have you changed anything else on your buggy that could have played a part?
Hope you get this worked out soon,

Darion

If it worked better before the update then re-install the older firmware!

I would say take a look at the settings again.

It's not a failure yet. The startup routine is different with the new firmware and should work.

The Align 600xl is an outrunner. They tend to like high timing and high starting power. No punch control.

What are your current settings?

Yes, it's very possible that the settings were lost during the firmware updating.
Maybe you need to reset the esc from scratch and calibrate the motor with your esc.

I would move the timing to high, run it. Then try moving the timing to highest, and run it again.

See which performs better and gives you the best temps.

Weird, my original V1 ran my 600XL smooth as butter before it died. The MGM and 600XL however failed to get along. Something else must be coming into play for this to be happening.

I'm pretty sure one of your magnets probably died in the 600xl.

We've been running Monsters with outrunners with very good performance...

Align motors leave a little to be desired.

I will second that, I have had a few align motors, and was not very impressed with them. A better choice for a 6 pole motor would be a mega. For a std outrunner the axi gold line are very nice, some of the best I have seen.

Hopefully castle will bring out some outrunners... Maybe a 28 size one with a sensor assy...

i would be suprised if one of the magnets is bad, the motor has less than 2 hours on it and it has never been over 100 degrees and is only turning 35k rpm
