Losi 5s hardcase lipo - 10.28.2008, 03:54 AM

Looks like brushless is gaining momentum as if we didn't know already.

I knew they were releasing a 4s lipo but didn't know about this 5s 4000mah 25c hardcase lipo and from all companies Losi .

Would this be the first hardcase 5s battery on the market ?

The must of only just loaded that on their site. Wasn't on there a couple of hours ago. Would have to be the 1st hard case 5S battery. Probably the size of a brick though. $269.99 is a bit steep considering it is only 4000mah

I agree. But its a good move though. It's sure too sell a few for those still skeptical about lithium's stability and who love Losi.

The 5s 4000mah pack supposedly fits the same case as their 4s 5000mah pack. Not sure on the cells, though. The cells may be labeled specifically for Losi, so the cell mfg may not be easily determined.

Their cells are probably overrated Proteks. The pack does not look very long, and is 4000mah, so I'd assume they're either Proteks or very close. Personally, I'd buy a $83 Protek 5s 4000 20c than a $269 Losi 5s 4000mah 25c.

the proteks will put out 20c thats forsure, my 1515 2.5d is about all the proteks can handle, the 1512 2.5d is also the max for the proteks.... excellent batteries for the money and very small

but the pack would almost have to be square to have protek cells in it because my 5s 4000 proteks are 137x41x42

A guy from Losi just told me that this battery is the same size as their 4S Hard Case so it can be used in the 8B w/8E body.

I don't think the 5S Proteks are made anymore. Amain Hobbies and Impakt no longer have them listed on their site
