First I would suggest doing a little foot work on your own by getting on line and looking up the ESC on the Novak website, and printing out the instructions for the Novak 4.5 HV Maxx, as this sounds like what you are asking about. That should pretty much tell you everything you need to know. Yes the ESC has dual wires for two batteries, so if you only install one that is fine. Just tie the other set of wires with its plug to something so it will not short out on anything. If you read all of the instructions that come with the ESC it tells you the specs and what batteries (1S, 2S, 3S, or whatever) you are able to run the sytem with. If you go on Tower Hobby and look up the ESC you can also find all of the pertinent information that you need there as well and print it up for future reference. Good luck with that.

You need to make a jumper for one side, and get a lipo cut off module. And Jerry was correct - the manual is available online for your use.

Losi 8T 1.0, Savage Flux - XL style, LST XXL, Muggy, 3.3 E-Revo Conversion and sitting outside 425hp, 831 Tq Dodge Ram Turbo Diesel. It SMOKES
