bustitup crt.5 build - 10.27.2008, 12:13 AM

I"m starting to put this together....I put these Imex Claw Dawgs on temporarily untill we get the 17mm fix then I think I will go with badlands on bead locks....picked up two Feigao 9l's on ebay tonight...got a clear body I'm kicking colors around but it looks short allready so when I get mikes new extended chassis I will need another body for sure

whats a good cheap upgrade from the ofna sx0001 servo? or is it good enough?

17mm fix? Is there something outhere to run a 17mm hex on these? If so what wheels are you planning on running? 1/8 buggy would be the closest to proper size, that I know of, and thats still big for these little guys

RC-Monster RC8T 1515 2.5D/MMM/5s RC-M 4500mah
SC10 MMPro 13.5T 2s NeuEnery 5000mah
RC18T Mamba 25/5400kv 2s lipo + 6s NiMh

i'm pretty sure that rooter and blackedoutrevo and some others are close to solving this and yes i would run a 17mm buggy wheel with with 1/2" offset.....but only with mikes new extended chassis which is supposed to be longer than his last.......1/8th buggy tires are about 4" tall...perfect

My Crt is fit for 17mm Hex

I built 4 Adapters for Buggy Wheels
Rear 20mm and front 15mm

Look

So you can get so fast as a 1/8 Nitro

Instead of using 8th buggy rims/tires (i hate the way it looks)

Use normal truggy rims (not LPR or the bigger ones) And stretch some 2.2 truck tires over them. It makes it look like LPR from the full size trugg, and handles awesome

Depending on what tire you use, they will be 3.8-4.2 in after all glued up, and wont have alot of side wall (looks just like LPR)

I dont have any pics of my set though, buddy has them

Looks great. What kind of runtimes do you get with the 8000 pack? Do you think it is overkill?

any 8th scale truggy rims

Im running a completely custom set up really, HB's LS10 arms and everything. So I can use something like New era adaptors for the rustler since the axle is the same dia

I will have to get updated pics. I actually sold my crt.5, but it was to my buddy that I see pretty much every day, so I will get the build posted. He is going with a outrunner, direct drive, a little different from my set up, but it will be cool.

A little list of the car

Chassis is EXT 15mm from the RCM ext chassis
LS10 arms, knuckles, hubs, c hubs, bearings, drive shafts (F/R and center, axles, bell crank
shock towers are all shaved up, running the same size revo shocks all the around

Pretty much the only stock stuff are the diffs, and cases lol...

Everything will be sent to be anodized black in a few, so that will clean the stuff up, thats how I left off, it has turnbuckles and all now, pretty much a roller.

If you cant tell by the body, its going to look like a RC8T, I even have the wing that matches the RC8T one perfect, but .5 size. LPR wheels/tires, eve RC8T.5 stickers lmao

BlackedoutREVO,
Nice chassis. Glad to see it put to good use. I like the aluminum work you have done on the towers. I thought I would post some pics of the battery posts and brace I recently made. I was having problems tacoing the front bone when I lawn dart into the back of a jump. I know they are not as finished as Blacked outs but I just don't have the patience to do all that finish work. By the way Blacked out, is there any news on the extra bones?

Well we picked up a $10 airbrush today and my son got it going and ended up with some progress on the crt.5

its a shame this body will be useless soon as mike gets the new extended chassis.....but it was some good practice
