Slash VXL questions - 11.18.2008, 07:21 PM

I'm getting a Slash on Thursday and I'm going to get a MM/VXL set-up for it for christmas. I'm going the Jato spur gear conversion so with the MM/VXL what pinion should I run with an Ener-G 4600 6 cell. I don't need super speed over 35 would be fine till I go Li-Po. The 32P pinions range from 9 to 22T.

16/56 with Jato 32 pitch would be fine on 7.2 volts and a 3500Kv motor.

OK. I was going to go with 17/56 so I guessed pretty close. What about with 2S Li-Po and 3S Li-Po. Would there be any advantage of running a 4S Li-Po with the MM/VXL combo?

You should get a 2s and gear for 40mph.

I can't afford Li-Po right now so I'm just going to run my Ener-G 4600 till I save up enough money for Li-Po. So when I get a 2S or 3S Li-Po I shouldn't worry about changing the gearing?

If you get 3s lipo make sure you gear down. If you go with 2s then you're fine.

OK. I think I'm going to go with the 2S Li-Po now I just need to decide wither or not to pay the extra $25 to get the 8000mah pack over the 5000.

One more question - If I got the Hypersion 0606i net charger would I be able to build an adapter to charge 2 separate 2S Li-Pos at once. Could I make an adapter to have it charger them as a 4S pack?
