He sent me an email some weeks ago. I'm sure he's still around, but maybe not much into RC anymore...

Amazing you mis my dry sarcasm Jeff.
Still around guys; (and going strong)
Thanks for forwarding this thread Nieles and Dafni.
I'll give it some thoughts and reply more thorougly later.
All is fine, no issues what so ever, except i fell of my bike a 5 weeks back, crashed into another person at 30 mph. couldn't walk for a few days, but luckely i recovered quick.) and my condition is set back a year of intense training, which is rather frustrating.. (part of the game, I know, i can't complain; lucky man i am being here considering the accident, and being healthy)

I missed you too Rene
Glad to hear that you are ok, coming off a bike at that speed is definately not a good thing. I have had my share of bike accidents (cars running stop signs) and I hope you fare better than I. Good luck on the recovery, and good to see you posting again!

I have some nasty bike accident pictures of me when I fell downhilling at 25-30mph. I have a plate in my head now. Not fun going thru airport security.

Yeah, i was shocked for a few days.
Recently bought a new frame for my bike too, a Gary Fisher superfly 29er, it sure became one nice ride, about as stiff as my Cannondale (that's weird saying, isn't it James?)
I used to drive my ATB for 35-45 miles with an average of 18.5-19 mph, and a rather low heartrate.. It didn't felt like much of an excersize, i wasn't tired after a ride. After the crash i'll have to settle with less distance, way lower speed (1-2 mph lower) and higher heart-rate. I'm taking it easy though, but i was hoping my heart rate would be lower sooner.
I guess the cold weather isn't helping me either.
I've got no particular reason for not posting though, realize I used to spent about two hours a day on this forum. Two hours a day, that's a large share of the day! RC still is a hobby though. The main thing i was doing on the forum was approving users, sending PM's about certain posts, and trying my best to be as political correct as possible when there where issues.
recently picked up an old hobby of mine; music/speakers. Bought a few pair JBL speakers (owned a pair 4311B's from my 15th till my 24th, and i was starting to miss them.. i'm about to install a pair in my room. still debating where to put them.
Another time consuming hobby i started is buying a lathe and a CNC mill. Mike got me hooked, i had plans for quite some time, and Mike got me enthusiastic. and if you are planning on converting/building a mill, i can guarantee you there will be more time and money involved than initially planned. (if there was any form of planning involved for that matter) Glad i got her up and running now.. Still needs some work though..
