I've had some issues with this motor from the time I got it up until now. Really not impressed with Hacker motors. Fortunately it doesn't look to be damaged at all so I'll try to re-assemble it and use an RC-M clamp on it but between this, 2 Audis, and about 8 VWs I'm done with this "superior" engineering.

Maybe you could get a few screws and use em to hold the can onto the front endbell.

Yeah, but the enbells are really small. I bought this instead of a MM 4600 motor because everyone stressed how important it was because it was German. At least the Castle motors are screwed together and my 5700 NEVER fell apart.

I bet you have at least a 1/4" there to thread a screw into.

I'm not sure, I only ran it on 18/86 gearing (same as my 5700) and only ran it on 3s lipo. It was very powerful but so was the 5700, hard to say. If this motor is shot I'll most likely get a 50-3300 Medusa to replace it, I have one in my CRT .5 and it moves that thing along without effort.

Honestly, ANY motor with a glued/pressed on endbell would have let go eventually. As far as German engineering goes, stick with Lehner.

I'll stick with Neu, Medusa, and Castle motors. Haven't had anything but good luck with them so I'll stick with what works.

If it's not screwed on then clamp it cause it will fall apart.

The B series hackers are really not that impressive. The c50 motors are, especially the L and XL cans. They have screwed on endbells, and about the best qual and finish I have seen on any motor (inc neu). I buy them used, so for around 100 bucks they are super deals. Not a deal if you buy them new (ouch).

The b series need Mikes clamp, just like a feigao. They do have better effecientcy, but not as good as a lehner, which is compareable to the c50 motors. In all honesty a medusa is a better bet, and easier to procure.

Medusa is probably easier to get service for, too. I don't feel like shipping this thing back to Germany just to have them glue the endbells back in. I inspected the rotor and stator and they look perfect. I'll pick up another clamp and keep the motor and deal with the other problems. I like the performance on 3s, more than enough to lift the front wheels but with some throttle control it really drives nice.

This is what you need with that motor. Linc is right. Th Hacker C motors are better for a truck application than the B series. The C are screwed together. The Hacker motors were superior back in their day, but honestly have fallen behind the curve a bit when you compare price to performance now days. I still have a couple hackers that are yers old now and still work great so put a motor clapm on it and run it for a couple more years. lol

You got that right, they are way too expensive. The b50 are well out of date, and the c50 are a bit large in diameter for the output. When you can pick up the c50 motors for around 100 bucks used they are a good deal. Otherwise, not worth it...

He's already got it and other than the pressed in front end bell there is nothing wrong with it. I have a B50 10XL that runs great in a buggy or truggy on 5s. Its got a RCMonster motor clamp on it and its never given me a single bit of trouble and runs plenty cool.

No need to replace anything, its still a very good motor IMO, just a bit expensive for what it is. You already have it, just get the motor clamp and run the heck out of it with no worries.
