Thanks. The AX10 is now running an outrunner with CC Sidewinder. The Rock Force will get the same too as soon as I receive my high speed gears sets.

Looks good, the ax10 artr is suprisingly capable right out of the box. I like the rock force too, worm axles are great.
As for the outrunner and sidewinder, I run that combo in my 2.2 comp rig. Great combo, but I do find the internal bec on the sidewinder is not very strong. I disabled it and use a ccbec instead. I do run a jr 9000t servo, so it is a bit amp hungry.
Have fun, crawling is a blast!

Hi lincpimp,
This is good info. I had some issues with the Spektrum receiver not powering up. I thought it was the receiver & installed a cap to smooth things out. So, it's the sidewinder internal BEC. Will have to do something about that then.

Looks real good Joe. I'm still waiting for the AX10 ARTR I ordered last week. How does it compare against the kyosho?

Hi george16,
Personally I prefer the Kyosho. There's just something about the wormdrive & of course the name. This is only my second Kyosho in the 22 years I've been in the hobby. I still have the Optima mid bought all those years ago.
On the other hand, the AX10 is highly tunable & plenty of aftermarket upgrades for it. I am now considering to lower my rig's CG some more by changing to the WRX chassis.
Having said all of the above, I do not participate in competitions, just mucking around near my LHS track where the owner put together a few piles of soil 'n stuff.

I had the exact same issue. At full servo throw in either direct the spectrum rec would switch off. I tried the cap on the rec, but that did not help. The ccbec has cured the issue and I have a few hours on the truck with no issue. I would like CC to make a sidewinder crawler model esc with a built in ccbec, including selectable voltage output.
Great esc, I have 4 of them for my crawlers, and for the price you can't find a comparable model, hell the closest esc that does as well is the MM!

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll just get me a Kyosho since the AX10 is actually my son's truck .

And one more thing, proline 2.2 badlands will outperfom and outlast the losi claws. Narrow the foams and run them hard!

I took about 1/4 off the width of the foam, seemed like a bit too thick for the tires once they were on narrow wheels (proline 8 shooters). I guess if you ran the tir on a std width 2.2 truck rim the foam would be fine. I did not star cut the foams, as they seemed soft enough after narrowing. They work great, best crawler tires I have tired. I have used moabs, mashers, lizards, hammers, flat irons, and claws and these are better than those...
