Shock set up advice?? - 05.24.2009, 09:05 AM

I finaly have some free time to put my UE suspension on my E-Maxx and I would like to bash it this weekend. LHS are closed and all I have is 4 RacerX Supershocks with 40 wt oil and 4 shocks with 35 wt oil. I also have two complete sets of springs. How does the 40 wt with blue springs and the 35 wt with red springs, four in the front and four in the back sound? Thanks again.

Mark

Here's my reply to your question over at UE.

I'd rather go with a 4-shock setup using black springs in the rear and blue springs in front. 50wt oil all around. Remember, you are running a 5S lipo which weighs over 500 grams (a bit over 1 pound). Less shocks to maintain compared to an 8-shock setup. This is the setup I run with my gmaxx on 5 (2S + 3S) or 6S (2 x 3S).

Remember, this is just a baseline for you. Find what setup you're most comfortable with your type of driving.

Castle Neu 1520 on 6S LiPo Powered Gmaxx (Nitro Killer)
Predator with OS .21TM
Supermaxx with Mach .26
Revo with OS .18TZ
Kyosho ST-RR Conversion
Ofna CR with Tekin ESC/Motor (2)
