Hello I'm new to this site, it looks cool and informative! I am starting a e revo conversion. I have the gorillamaxx transmission, and I was wondering if somebody can tell me if this center differential that I've seen on ebay would fit, because I want both the front and rear to drive independently...and if not, what other options I have.

they work, not well though even with 500k fluid, Mike has a CD assembly that he will be releasing soon which will be much better....I tried one in my converted 3.3 and didnt notice any difference

Thanks azjc! So you tried Mike's CD or the Traxxas one? And since they both operate in the same manner, and you say u didn't notice anything, are u telling me that it's not really worth it?

this is all that I have so far, the transmission is just packed with automotive wheel bearing blue grease:

Also, is there a way to use steel center drive shafts with this transmission installed, instead of the bulky plastic ones?

u guys think that this is the way to go? Or should I try a different route? like using the stock revo tranny and tekno conversion or rc monster motor mount? I heard some bad things about the electriclutch but I could just use a regular pinion instead.

No continue this setup works great - Just take most of the grease out of that trans - you only need a light coating...

The old emaxx tranny wont work with that centre diff, as its ment for the new emaxx/erevo, so that route isnt open to you.

You could modify the chassis to fit the new tranny & use the center diff if you wish, but your current tranny will be redundant.

If I were you, I'd probably use the tranny you have and live without a center diff- they are a bitch to tune properly anyway so you are better off without

As for center drive shafts, you would require a custom length due to the emaxx tranny and revo chassis- best bet would be for custom steel dogbones from Mike, made to any length once you know whats needed.

I tried the traxxas CD, the unit Mike will be releasing is a slipperential, it eliminates the tranny, and replaces it with a combo of a slipper clutch and center diff...I have a variation of it on my 10s Revo and its a much better system

Who is mike? I could maybe use some of his custom center driveshafts
So should I just try and sell the original revo transmission or what?

azjc, slipperential sounds cool, is it on a 3.3 chassis?

You can go steel but to be honest just stay stock for now and then upgrade when you break stuff...

The slipperential is a bolt on unit that will fit the GorillaMaxx chassis- wouldnt work on the 3.3 chassis without heavy fabrication to adapt it- worth the effort but not with a 3.3 chassis thats been hacked up.

Have you concidered buying the erevo chassis and tranny, that would open up several options too..

I did...is the stock erevo tranny any good? I would like to keep trudging forward with the 3.3 chassis...what options would the erevo tranny open?
