Battery too big?!

Anyone running 5s 6000mah Enerland packs in their buggies? I am just finishing tekno conversion and have had to cut a huge slot in body shell to allow for battery.
Bit of a pain as it kinda spoils the shell but have no choice. I gues varying conversions have battery nearer to centre of chassis.
That's the worst thing about buggies, low sides to bodyshells!!!!

You could always install longer body posts and raise the body....which is what I did

Brilliant idea. Did you make you own bodyposts or simply raise up the kit ones with spacers?

But you should also consider the weight that battery is just too big for a buggy - great excuse to get a truggy though :)

+1 on buying a truggy and installing that battery in it. I have that battery in my truggy and it's great.

i have the Ofna Hyper 8 with the RCM battery tray. i bought the tray too small and have been standing it up on its side to fit into the tray. yesterday after i painted a new body i couldnt put the body on without it hitting the battery. i ended up cutting 1 side off the tray and laying it down. of course, worried that the battery wasnt as secure i decided to take it slow and see if the velcro got loose around turns or whatever... 20 seconds into the first run, a guy came out with a Nitro saying blablabla, im faster.. laughing my butt off, i said, ok lets go once around the track, i bet i am 8 seconds faster. of course, i was but on the last jump before the final straight i decided to show off a bit and jump it EXTREMELY high... well, that worked out just fine and i won the 8 second bet.... but my buggy flipping over the finish line from a bad land wasnt nice..
the battery never came loose from about 10 tumbles...
my final words... if you have to make any adjustments, MAKE SURE IT IS ALL SECURE. modifying things is all part of the fun. although is sucks cutting off 1/4 of what you paid for. :)

Think I may have made the wrong choice here!! I have gone for more volts and lower kv which I thought was the way to go but seems you all think 5s is too much for a buggy.
I nearly bought a truggy but couldn't resist the losi 8 1.0 for £180!

5s is fine for a buggy but capacity around 4k not the 6k you have...

It's just too heavy. I personally have a 500 gram limit (for a buggy). I won't buy any battery heavier. Don't give up on Low Kv/high voltage. I have one set-up with a 2000Kv, 5S (3850mAh). Well balanced. My other set-up, 1700Kv, 6S (2600mAh) even better balance. The 5S set-up runs just over 15 min & the 6S setup, just under 15 with high cut off voltages. Get a truggy to put your 6000 pack in or sell it to a truggy person.

I run a porky pack in buggy and truggy, the 4S 6000mah PolyRC (enerland packs) packs. I don't think I would go much heavier than these.

How did the pack fit in your tekno tray? I checked out my packs in a buddies RC8 Tekno conversion based on a discussion I had with tekno where they stated the pack should fit with no mods, but the pack sat on the lip of the battery tray. take off the lip, should fit fine.
