Hv maxx - 09.11.2005, 09:25 AM

Does anyone make a contoller to run the hvmaxx motor besides novak. It is a sensored motor. I have run it on a none sensored controller. It is not very smooth. I would like to find a sensored controller to run it on. The novaks controller don't seem to holdup. I have two of them sitting around doing nothing. Have more projects coming and I thought they would help get me started on them. Thanks in advance.

Peace!

I don't know what pinning is used for sensored, i also don't know if there is a standard for..

Is it interesting though? it is a light motor, only capable of a few watts, for the price of the S serie of feigao, i think it's more interesting to buy a new setup (LRP/Reedy) than a complete new controller for that sensored thing?

You trying to tell me to pitch it. It has crossed my mind. I think they work nice for somethings though. Have to keep options open sometime. I do like the smooth factor of the motor. I think the problem is trying to turn to many rpms verse power. If you understand what i;m saying.

I've got the same dilema. I was thinking about a smaller vehicle with a six cell pack application. A friend of mine dusted off his R/C projects from ten years ago. If it won't work in his vehicles, it may go into a stock EMaxx after I get done replacing the remaining stock comonents on the GMaxx. Getting rid of my HV-Maxx has more than crossed my mind, but it would be more of a cut my losses motive.

CHC, you've got a couple EMaxxs don't you? What are you running as powerplants in those?

I running the stock titans right now in one. I tore the tranny gear out. I running a 9xl in the other one with a schulze 18.97. I have 14L waiting for another project as well. I have a complete hvmaxx setup for something. I have a hvmaxx motor that i junked the controller on. I think the controller is bad on the complet hv as well. I had almost enough stuff to start a thrid one. Started ebaying to get read of it.

yep, 7xl.

On the HV-Maxx, I wish I could recoup the repair costs. The HV-Maxx was a good fit at first because of ease of installation. I'm not sure whether I want to run the stock titans or the HV-Maxx in the snow yet

I wish i could get the money back it cost me for the two. I could have me a killer brushless system. If I had only found this place before then.

I went with what the LHS had in case I had issues. As it turns out, it didn't help. I still had to deal with Novak directly. I really haven't seen too many opinions posted about the HV-Maxx other than only recommendations for either Feigao or Lehner when queried about ESC/motor combinations. I've gone back to the LHS and mentioned this site. We'll see if they see the light!

Some time we all need a little help to see the light. Just wish i had seen it sooner. 600 bucks would have put me in the good brushless bracket. I bought the novak when they fist came out. What a waste. I did get a couple fans out the deal.

Will you have to break the $600 down in to sections. I got a capictor of it with fan and mount to. I took the heatsink off to run that on my 7xl. Cut the wire off and put them on my schulze. I think it would have been cheaper to Buy the stuff out right. :) LIVE AND LEARN. RC monster is the place to go.

What controller have you used the motor on? Any sensorless controller will run the Novak motor(and it isn't a bad motor at all, actually).

I ran it with my schulze. The novak fried. It popped it hissed it smoked it is history. It was bad about cogging.(the schulze) I tried all kinds of settings. Some worked better than others. It is not bad motor. I have a few projects coming it will work with. I don't want to spend a fortune on a esc for it. I would pitch it and go sensorless before hand. What can you do for me mike?

PS Can you get the 7020s there mike? I don't see them any more on the site.

Did you try different gearing? How about changing the switching frequency on the controller?
