My motors of choice are medusa's but I do have a 5700 and 9000 castle good for short speed runs but not for bashing. The only reason the low kv motors stay cool is because the don't spin as fast,friction equal heat. My medusa 4800 runs cooler on 2s than 3s.

While he does make a good point that friction = heat, I do think the boat left and he was not on it. He must think the world of bearings, the fact they still work perfectly while producing enough heat to get a 8oz piece of copper to 160f...

At least he has some idea of how to pick a motor.

RCU and traxxas forums are horrible. Thetoyz is a step above them, the people are nice, but it's not an advanced forum by any means.
