DX3R Mixing - 04.15.2009, 09:58 AM

I see it is pretty easy to setup a mix between throttle and aux...

Is it possible to engage / disengage the mix using one of the other buttons on the DX3R?

Thanks

Don't mean to hijack your thread here, but I also have a 3r... being somewhat new to RC (just started last year) I got it so I would have something that I knew would last (30 model memory, all the features).

Problem is, I don't know what the heck all the fancy stuff on it does. The manual looks like the result of one of those experiments you hear about where they put a bunch of monkeys in front of some keyboard to see if they can write Shakespear.

Could anyone perhaps clue me in on when & why I might use some of the fancy stuff on my 3r?

(If it matters, I use it on a E-Revo w/ novak 5.5, Losi MRC, Slash, and soon an Axial crawler, once it gets an ESC & battery)

Thanks!

I have seen this question asked many times on rccrawler.com and the answer is no. The only pistol grip radio that has that capability is the 4pk.

I got an AX10 last week, the LHS had it for $125. I know the guy who was selling it, he'd only even run it once. Just need a ESC & receiver for it.

My 3r's great, I really like it, just wish I knew how the heck to use some of the more advanced features it has.

e.p.a.- end point adjustment. The servo may be able to turn more than the wheels, if this is the case, it will stress the servo and steering components. Changing the end point sets where or how far the servo can travel. Handy for brake servos thhat don't need much throw, and just a good idea to protect your invetment

dual rate- mostly used on steering. It can change whether it takes a little input for a lot of steering (tight, slow tracks) or a lot of input for a little steering (high speeds, so it doesn't feel "twitchy")

those are the main two off the top of my head. any other questions?

Cool, that gives me some ideas. I also downloaded the manual off the website - it looks like the one I got with my 3r was missing a few pages, which might explain why it made no sense at all to me!

I definitely need to set my servo endpoints, and the exponential setting might be really useful. Is it helpful to use that w/ the throttle at all, or is it mostly used just on the steering?

I leave my throttle channel alone, but try it out, you never know till you try!

I've been told by Spectrum, that changing the throttle channel in to a non-proportional channel, is not possible.

I think you could set up the mixing by going into System>and Select the ABC Crap.
