the slipperential works like an adjustable clutch..which helps absorb some of the drive train shock. Wherether or not you need it or want it is entirely up to you, but, considering you are running 8s....

But, considering the slipperential was R&D'd by Monster Mike, I'm sure he put it through all the over-powered setups and I'm sure it'll work fine.
In a basher, it'll be a great shock absorber, or, if you don't care about wheelies, you can make it slip a bit to give you better control in low traction environments.
