eagletree in my buggy -
07.01.2009, 05:29 PM
Hello I run my car ( kyosho kanay) with eagletree 100A with 6s 5000mha 20c/30c batteries with MMM and neu 1515 3d gear for 45mph. I test it in my house and it give 1400w on 63A , Is the 100A eagletree enough for my buggy?
Can I run 30 minutes?

Since the measured currents are well below 100A, it's fine. 63A is probably your burst current, what is the average current? You'll need that to determine what kind of runtime you'll get with 5Ah...

This is a very interesting question, I've used the other datalogger (novaks sentry pro) and its current meter max's out at 100A as well, however I have used on a revo with 2 3s 5k zippies wired in parallel and a MMM 2650kv, geared for 30-35 and the loger says that I have peaked out at 105A from time to time, and from what I've read revo's tend to suck up the power which is why CC suggests packs that can discharge 120A cont, could this mean that the current draw exceeded the loggers rating but still gave a max reading that wasn't the actual maxium reading but just the max that the logger could register? Also if anyones curious on run times ~28min of hard off road runing in grass, with lots of braking, rev, and acceleration.

One way to tell if the logger is not registering current peaks is to look at the graph. Do the current peaks have a flat top? If so, it is clipping the tops off, but you may still be able to get a rough estimate by looking at the rate of increase and decrease over time and extrapolate the max current.

Huh oddly enough I checked my logs of running the Revo with the voltage and current sensors on them, and it peaks at 105 and at most averages 25A, but if you only look at average peek sorta its about 50A. If you want I'll post some of my graphs, just tell me what you want on there.

hello I run 1 hour and 22 minutes and I used only 10000mha I can run more time because I have 3 lipos, 2 lipos of 4000mha and 1 lipo of 5000mha, it peaks 70 amp and 1600wats and I am going to down two thoth.
I dont know what things I need to select in 2d chart.

NoControl I saw your graphs...... I think that the 100A is enough for me, after 1 hour and 22 minutes of very hard bashing the buggy only used 10000mha I can run 30minutes with 4000mha 6s lipos, And I think that I can do 35-40minutes with 15t pinion, now I am using 17t pinion, But I have a little problem, After 20minutes of use the motor come a few hot, about 163ºf, I think that with 15t pinion it should be more cold.

Well late last niight ( several hours after posting the graphs) it occured to me that the 100A peaks were mostly from hitting the brakes from almost or at full speed, but it only hit 100A and no higher because the zippys are 5000mAH 20c.
5AH x 20c = 100A
So basicly those 100A peaks probably were not limited by the logger but by the batteries, I could be wrong, unless someone can prove me wrong with a better battery that allows for higher discharge currents.
