When I opened the mmm case (to replace the fan !) I pulled too much the cable to the receiver ... and lost the whole soldering pad of the orange cable ...
Is there a second possibility to connect the ppm cable on the board ?

Scratch the green trace that conects to where the pad was and just resolder to there, that would be my suggestion, but you may want a CC rep to give a better answer or a more experienced person.

that'll void the warrenty.
if it were me i'd send it in but fixing it yourself probably isnt that hard :)

Pulling solder pads off often results in a loss of warranty, as it's not (usually) a manufacturer defect.

If you pull a solder pad off a circuit board the board is irreparably damaged and has to be replaced. Without the pad there is nothing to solder to. This is probably not going to be covered under warranty. Send the ESC in using our service request form http://www.castlecreations.com/support/repairs.html. Worst case it will cost about half the cost of a new one to replace the ESC.

Because we use hight temperature liquid flux solder which we had to retrain our techs to use, any soldering on the circuit board on any of our products voids the warranty.

but I am from germany so it would be cheaper for me to buy a new one.

My Question was where this pad leads to so I can solder the cable directly to the chip or so....

Once a pad is gone you cannot get to the traces in the circuit board.

Topas, if you can find a spot to solder it to then do it. Since it isn't covered by the warranty anyways I see no harm in trying to fix it yourself. Hopefully there is a spot on the top layer of the board.

Bernie - I think he's looking for another point on the board that connects to the signal wire that he could "hack" it onto...

Post a clear picture up of the PCB, then we can play follow the trace and locate a suitable spot maybe- it has to lead somewhere before disapearing... As for soldering, get yer iron nice and hot, and break out the good solder & a magnifying glass too....

This is why I think the internal fan is a bad idea.

My MMM died after trying to replace the fan too. It should be external, then CC
doesn't have to deal with warranty or replacements of fan-swapping related damage.

I really didn't want to open the case because the v3 had been working great, but
without the fan I didn't want to risk overheating either.
