Refurb MMM ESC

I finally received the refurb MMM ESC I ordered on July 28, 2009. It took over a month but what the hell.

Anyway, I opened it and was actually disappointed by what I saw. The battery bullet connectors were soldered together which makes it impossible to open the ESC when replacing/removing the cooling fan.

I think it was soldered by someone who really doesn't want to do it. I'm not an electronics/electrical guy but I can do better

Yeah, my refurbs have that on them as well. Some careful low speed dremel work fixes them though.

the solder job on my refurb was brutal as well.
I'm no expert, but I could beat that job easy!

On the brightside, my refurb runs like a champ!

So you can spot a refurb by solder on the bullets? I'm asking cause my revo has a v2 in in and there are no wires from the switch (the guy I bought it from said it was a v2, nothing about refurbs) It does have battery bullets though.

I need to know since if it dies, the v2 gets replaced for free. :)

Most V2s should have bullets for the motor and battery wires, no hardwired leads as such. Seems Castle may have soldered the bullets on the refurbs as an easy way of recognizing them if one was to be sent in for repair/ replacement.
