I finally hit the 70 mark yesterday with my Tc3. (At least thats what al the fellas at the track said). My partner forgot his Radar gun, so I didnt get to clock it, but I'm pretty confident. I have some video footage I'm working on. Until I clock it next Sunday, I'll let you be the judge!
ps I'm trying to get in some of the magazines. Here's some pictures. Do you think I'll make the cut??
Nice pics.. But you should crop out or edit the pics so the mirror doesn't show in the first 2 pics. Sort of confuses the eye when it's otherwise totally clean. And if you can redo it, maybe a slightly higher perspective on the 2nd pic to get a better look at the car from that point of view?
And grats on hitting 70! Totally sweet ride man. :D
Thanks, and like I said, I have no proof of my speed YET but everyone said it had to be at least 70... I was last clocked at 64mph and I made some major upgrades since then. Anyways, heres the video. You decide!
It depends what you are after, if you are sending pictures in to the mags to have their photographer come and take pictures of your car the "naked chassis" photos are fine, if you are trying to get your own photos published I would take some more with better lighting, either outdoors in the natural daylight of an overcast day or with a reflector on the flash/ceiling flash indoors so the highlights are more diffuse and not directly towards the camera, also note the above post about having a clutter free scene in the background.
I very much doubt the "Body on" photos will get you featured in a magazine even with a pro photographer, the body is too narrow/track too wide so the wheels/tyres stick out from the body instead of being flush, the body posts are too long all round, I cant tell 100% but the front wheel arches look as thought they may have been cut a little raggedly and need sanding to a smooth curve, the rear wheels look like they are long way from being centred in the wheel arches but maybe that comes from the angle of the photo and the fact that the wheels don't sit flush with the body, the rear wing is either twisted or not cut straight you can see its back edge sloping down on the right hand side (left side in the pics as viewed from the front), aesthetically the paint would look a lot better if the blue cobra stripes were full length and continued along the roof and back end as well as the front it looks a little disjointed as is, I personally don't care for carbon effect trim or paint on a scale body the weave is generally way too big to be scale but I have seen plenty in mags so I doubt it will score you down.
Personally I wouldnt advertise it as being 70+MPH when I had no idea how fast it really is, I don't see this speed bragging based on mates guestimates of your speed as a good way to get into the magazines.
At three minutes four seconds, that's one long video for 39 seconds of footage!

You did everything but critic the guy's grammar. It is almost likeyou blew the pic up and measured the wheel well and fender spacing as well as the wheel offset. Pretty nice naked pics and yes the body could use some fine touching but dang...you don't even guy the credit for what he did...(off my soapbox)
T-Bro, nice ride. up the Kv a little and go for 80. I am running a MM 7700 on 3s and that is what I am shooting for.

Stop hating on the guy all he was doing was showing us his ride.
Not sure what motor you are running, but I did 73mph with a box stock tamiya tt-01 (100 dollar kit), with bearings, a feigao 380 6s, MM, 3s maxamps 4000mah (yeah, it actually provided enough juice to do this, repeatedly), and foams. I did use a 10th scale gas body (200 mm, wide enough to not have to cut the wheel openings and still steer), Lola style shape. I had so much down force on the reat I had to put shock shaft spacers or the rear of the car would squat over 50mph and rub.
As far as your car making it into a mag, I think you will do just fine. They publish all kinds of stuff, even clean stock rcs.
I usually don't chime in on such things, but Nativepaul could have pretty much kept everything he had to say to himself. I perhaps missed where T-Bro even mentioned putting his car in a magazine. Dude just shows his rides and has fun driving them. Haterade man.. With nasty ole sea salt around the rim of your glass too.
T-Bro, What I wrote earlier was not meant to be a slight or insult I was just pointing out the flaws to give you a chance to fix them to improve the chances of you achieving your ambition and getting featured in magazines, my comments were made with that in mind, do the pictures and the car look as good or better than many I see posted on this or other forums (including some of my own)? Yes they do, but then I am not trying to get mine published. You asked in the OP for opinions on whether you would make the grade and In my opinion the pictures you posted are not magazine feature grade so I gave you some pointers on how you could easily and cheaply improve both the quality of the pictures and also the aesthetics of the car to maximise your chances of achieving your ambition.
If I got you wrong and your not after help achieving your ambition of being featured in the mags and just want to be praised on the forums, then your car does look very cool, goes pretty quick, and your photos are better than many I see on the forums, feel free to ignore my earlier comments, and I am sorry if I caused you any offence.
Everyone else, If anyone thinks that by taking on board any of my criticisms or suggestions he would actually hurt his chances of getting published then feel free to criticize me all you want, if not then keep it to yourself until I tell you I'm trying to get my brown nosing rewarded, then by all means tell me what I'm doing wrong.

how long do castle 7700kv last on 3 cells?
I've only been game to try 2 cell in my tb02evoiii. That was good enough for 62.something mph, can't remember the point cracked the 100kph mark and killed the diffs.
