MMM shut off? - 03.21.2010, 02:00 AM

was driving my savage today doing some pretty big jumps. it was probably getting close to the time i though the LVC was gonna kick in but i went for one last jump before a battery swap. Landed the jump pretty hard and....nothing, no steering, no throttle, no lights on the esc. thought maybe the hard landing moved the switch to the off position but no it was still on. Switched it on and off a few times and nothing. thought maybe the impact might have damaged the esc or batteries. I hooked up my next set of batts and it worked. so i was like ok i messed up a battery and kept driving till i eventually ripped a tire. I got home and put those on the chager and they charged up so that must not be the problem. I dont think it was the LVC because i would have still had steering and small amounts of throttle. this was just acting like there were no batteries hooked up. Any thoughts on what it might have been? Thanks.

I think you hit it hard on the chin and knocked it unconscious, but then the referee stepped in and made sure no permanent damage was done.

But honestly I can't think of anything...

Happened to me before too. ESC worked fine for months and then went up in smoke on Friday because of a battery wire shorting to a motor wire when I was trying to move my ESC and battery around. Oops.

Nevermind, I figured it out. It was a bad battery after all.

Sometimes things just tend to work themselves out. :) Glad to hear you got it working, sometimes it is the least likely item that's the culprit. If you don't mind me asking, what exactly was wrong with the battery?

Im not really sure what is wrong with it, i cut the shrinkwrap off and looked at the connections but they look fine to me. It also is working now, i might throw it in the truck again today to see if i can get it to stop working again so i can find the bad wire. Only seems to quit working after its been run a few minutes.
