It seems like a lot of people bought the 1717 for the Muggy and the LST. But I'd like to know if the castle neu 1520 on 6s will have enough power for a LST XXL geared for 50mph (with ballooning). The LST XXL has smaller (5.7" diameter) and lighter(235grams) tires than a stock LST XXL.
I have a 1520 coming for my truggy...should lots o fun!
1. MBX-6 T8 1900KV, RX8 ON 4S
2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S
3. MBX-5 ONROAD CONVERSION 1515, MMM ON 5S
4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S
5. TEN T 2650 T8, MMP ON 3S
Well, not sure if they are comparable, but my neu 1521 1y does just fine in both the lst and the muggy. I am geared for mid 40s and see no reason that I could not gear up. I only bought the 1717 for the 6x6 lst, had I wanted another normal motor I would have gone with the 1520 1y. But I already have 2 1521 1y motors (one each for the lst and muggy) so I am not really in need of anything for them. Now my 1/6 scale lst/muggy/eight based buggy will need something potent. I figured hv for that, 1521 2y on 10s with a ? (lutach) esc...
Thanks Guys. I started this thread for the new owner of my LST XXL. He wanted to put a ccneu 2200kv in it, and I told him I wasn't sure that motor would have enough power for the XXL and to take a look at the larger cc-neu motors.
The CC 2200 works fine in mine but I am geared for just under 50 and try not to push it. I think with the XXL the 1520 is a better choice to keep temps happy.
I have used both the CC1520/1600kv and the CC1717/1580kv in my Savage-X-17 on 6s, The weather here and some bad luck bugs has limited my trigger time. Both of the motors have ran awesome.
