Air master esc doesnt have reverse I believe, forwards only with an on/off type brake to fold a prop quickly whilst landing. Only the car/truck version has the programming for porportional brakes & reverse.
Car-Reverse ● Car Mode with reverse.
Reverse is activated only when the throttle stick is at Full Brake, returned to Neutral, and then reverse is applied.
I went through my manual several times, basic and advanced. Will try it again with your manual, maybe mine was outdated or something ...

My 80 airmaster would not do a car mode. The really old quarks had all of the programming, the newer model (most of them) have only air and heli. I used the 80b for a revo with mech brakes and it worked great. No reverse and the brakes are not proportional. Good for a simple conversion where you retain the mech brakes and mech reverse.
So it basically comes down to the fact that this ESC sucks since I don't have reverse. Then I'll just continue using my Mamba Max :).
Will try anyway tomorrow, maybe I'll get lucky, I will let you guys know.
You can set it up for forward-brake-revers, but the bark is so strong that it will flip the truck when you let off. I used the 80b forward only. It did well with the revo 2 speed and a 1512 sized aveox. I did not really like the mech brakes, so I sold the whole truck and bought an erevo and used a MMM and a 1515 1.5d. The quark is a great esc, I would like one of the 125 air escs (if I can get one cheap) for my 1/7 scale on road car conversion. I plan to keep the 2 speed, so the mech brakes have to stay as well.
