Very nice article. I was thinking though, why did you mention maxamps and not zippy or neu packs?

I don't see them referenced - Where abouts? There is a pic of them and the losi battery... No battery suppliers are listed in references.

Great article! My only comments are:

- E-Savage should read Savage Flux. The E-Sav is unchanged and remains brushed.
- Gearing rules should read "use larger pinion" for the undergeared, hot motor scenario.

Good article,

Very helpfull, thanks!

One correction though: On page 3 it says Kv means Kilovolts. This is not true.
KV means kilovolts = one thousand Volts (note the capital V).
kv means rotations per volt, RPM/V (k = rotations)

Just an FYI ;)

Very helpful article. One thing not so clear though was the general rules for brushless gearing. It states if the motor is hot with a cool controller you're undergeared: use smaller pinion. If the motor is cool with a hot controller you're overgeared:use smaller pinion. They can't both need a smaller pinion. A hot motor would need a larger pinion wouldn't it?
