$400 and doesn't even brace the chassis on the side opposite the spur gear (the stock engine acts as a chassis brace across this section and a brace is needed with the absence of an engine). Not to mention it doesn't look AT ALL like a polished product, just something he milled out in an afternoon and screwed together for photos. Still, someone will probably buy it....

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

I looked at that but seriously, if you're going to BL a 5B you need more balls than that. Reminds me of the Mazda Roadster from 1980. They took a 1400kg Australian Holden Sedan and put in the 12A Rotary out of a 800kg RX7 then wondered why it was gutless.

If you read the ad, neither pinion is included. And the other part he says that is not included is the actual motor mount bracket that the motor bolts to. Wow. Sounds like a smoking deal to me. I wonder if it will run on 4s lipo!

Grossly underpowered and under engineered. First run, poof ! Why'd it do that ?

Truth in advertising??? - 01.28.2010, 11:32 AM

That's a new level of brutal misrepresentation. You don't get the motor mount! Unless you can fab one, this kit is 100% useless - even before any quality questions. Sure you can get pinions but since you just wasted $400, where are you going to get the money?

I guess they thought of that, if you never get to run it, you'll never actually find out how crappy it would have been. Either way, it looks like they put more time into writing the disclaimer than designing the product

that kinda stuff pisses me off! so i vented on him and left him a nice comment. I reread it now and i got a good laugh so ill qoute it to here.

"Since it cost $450, and thats only a cheapo $150 esc and motor (that cant even handle the BAJA), I guess it cost $300 to manufacture a dinky ass little plate and esc mount, then include a whole 50 cents worth of hardware.... and on top of that the damn motor mount and pinions arent included! Its not even a good deal if they were included, and since they arent it a down right scam.

May you burn in hell for trying to sell that rediclous bullshit, you sorry bastard."

I sent him one too.. It's such a ripoff I couldn't help myself.

Dear rc_works,

So there's a ~$150 motor/esc and some aluminum plate for $450??!! Are you serious? You want another $96 for the motor mount, and I can't imagine what you would ask for the pinions... This is a complete ripoff. Not to mention that system doesn't have enough power for a 5b and would go "poof" immediately. By the time we buy all the stuff from you we're talking over $600 for a poorly designed, undercapable system. And that doesn't even include batteries!!! And no returns accepted? Come on............

That esc sucks balls. That esc is giving brushless a bad name around here.
