Strongest Revo axles CVD shafts ? feedback on shafts

I have a ridiculus horsepower 1/5 Rev-Osi (revo-Losi) 6s 4wd monster that keep s breaking stuff.the stock revo axle shafts are started to break down, tough great shafts.

What shafts do you like for 5S and 6s vehicles ?

im running my revo platinum on 6cell with a neu 1515 2.5d and sofar i havent had any trouble with the stock axels

since you dont have a slipper anymore, im not sure there is a cvd that will be better, i know many of the guys on the traxxas fourms complain about the traxxas cvd's, but you could always try MIP's for the 3.3

Im thinking big, fat dogbones would be better- the plastic shafts are good, but this isnt exactly a revo basher anymore, its a ~1/5 scale road missle so it demands something equally beefy (maybe either something from Mike or rcalloys.com)...

haha Your right about that. maybe I should tfind a way to get a slipper, but then also now that I have the ESC tuned better and I have learned not to gun it it will hold up. the front shafts appear to be fine.

you said you are useing a losi 8 diff right?

why not get a sliperential (or how ever you spell it) from mike .......... the car will handle better and it will save your axels

I would like to try the sliperential, but I also heard about problems with the front end..? I forget the details. I started with this setup because I wante to see if I could get some Drift action from it.

You think I could still get some Drift action from it with a Sliper ential ?

back when I ran my revo alot more than I do now I tried everything to find drive shafts that would hold up. In the end I would up just going back to the stock plastic sliders. They hold up and dont really break per say, but they do wear out and start to stretch at the joints. It kind of just became a wear item that I replaced every so often when I saw them starting to stretch at the joints. If you keep you eye on ebay you can pick up complete sets of the stock slider shafts and axles for cheap. I basically just kept my eyes peeled, grabbed them when I could get a good deal and just kept a set in the pit box all the time.

Believe me... I tried a bunch of other "harder" axles and they didn't really hold up any better in the long run. Just more expensive and more bling than the stock shafts.

For the most part I agree. it's a tough call, metal is going to wear and get slop but plastic can break.

I put a zip tie around the shaft to keep it from rotating inside of what is left of the outside slider. until I can pick up a replacement.

It most likely broke on impact, a section of it cracked off and gone.

I cant afford a Sliperential right now, hopefully someday

Definitely go with the Summit shafts they should hold up for sure.

Or I could go with Losi after shock Shafts and then find 4 large OD Bearing with small 8mm ID to use in the revo knuckle and buy 4 8mm outside bearings
cheaper route and I get shiney metal axle that are CV's
