Gmaxx battery bays - can they hold on to the bats? - 03.25.2011, 04:29 AM

Hola amigos!

Im converting my savage with a CD. During the process I found that I wanted to move the batterys as low as possible. Im ending up with something similar to the G-MAXX placement and thus wonder if the single strap can really hold on to the batterys during bad landings /"tumblings"?

I couldn't in my G3.
Batteries fell out to the sides, even during minor crashes.

I'd really suggest getting some of Mike's battery boxes. 2 of those with two straps each on em and you will have no problems, would be really easy to mount them on the sides as well.

in my g4 g-maxx all i did was put some velcro on the lower plate and then some on my batteries and all has been fine. If you want some added security, put some velcro on the battery straps and some on the other side of the battery, then they will definitely not come out.

Cheers guys!

Desided to put the bats closer to the center... thus I can have a 2/3 sideways bay and just strap the front so they do not fall out.

The build is in the Savge section in case you wonder what its all about.
