a strange one...

hi guys, i have a very strange problem with my castle neu 2200kv motor. after running for a little while the motor shaft comes out the back of the motor and causes the pinion to no longer be in line with the spur anymore. i have no idea why the hell it is doing it as it is not over or under geared (12/62 in my x1-crt with 5s 6000mah enerland lipo) it has never been mistreated and i have checked for binding or whatever else could cause this but i have come up with nothing and i am stumped....
any ideas what i should do with it, fourtunaly i have another Neu on the way for my 8ight so at least i will have a car to play with for the moment

The magnet is coming off of the shaft. You can either send it in to CC, or you can try to fix it yourself w/ some green loctite

how easy is it to fix it my self? will it still be covered under warranty by CC?
does it have to be green loctite too?

If it's under warranty send it in, but since you are not in the US, and all that you could choose to fix it yourself.

There are several types of locktite that are green and there are also others that would suit this purpose. Some are just low strength thread locker.

The one you really need is permatex (I said Loctite in another thread) sleeve retaining compound it's green and you can find it easily at an autoparts store. I gave some to Romano and he used it on a motot that the shaft and magnet came loose. Here is a link of what you are looking for.

I used 2 part epoxy on mine, then ca on top. has been holding up fine.

would "Loctite Lock 'n' Seal " work
i cannot find green loctitie in the UK...bummer

Try to find something at an industrial bearing supply store. They will usually stock a bearing retaining compound or something for worn shafts. You need something that is reletivly thin and has a high shear strength. If you look at the specs try to match them. Industrial places carry this stuff for sure. Don't know what kind of stores you have there in the UK, but a regular retail store jsut cateres to the average Joe, and this is something that is a little more specalized.

Try searching for Applied industrial, Motion industries there I am pretty sure there are some in the UK.

Back again, been at Uni for the past few months and haven't had a chance to use the cars.... are there any guides to do this as i still haven't got around to fixing it...

No not really, but when you take it apart just be sure of where the spacers are.

I have not personally taken apart a Neu, but I remember then saying something about self centering. You should be able to tell where the rotor was, or someone may be able to give you a dim. from one of the shaft. Maybe Patrick himself may chime in.

Loctite 609 or Loctite 620 is what we suggest -- Even better would be to send it in to us and let us take care of it. :)
