dead monster - 04.11.2010, 06:13 AM

after my recent minor technical problems i have been having with my mmm v3 esc(broken reciever wire and negative connection getting super hot),my esc is now not getting power to it at all.no lights,no beeps, nothin.i had the reciever wire replaced as i managed to open the esc up mistakenly while trying to jimmy the thing of the chassis(cheap double sided foamy adhesive used to mount esc to chassis is like bloody super dooper adhesive, permanent almost) and the base of the esc opened so warrentee voided. got friend to just replace the wire.now,no go with the esc. no power at all.connect the esc to castle link and it doesnt register as connected.
can i send it in to fix or is it kaput?
cheers

Send it in...if memory serves, the charge for replacement is $75-....still cheaper than getting a new one

Not to sound like a D$$k , but you should have sent it in two weeks ago?Opening the case is one thing. Soldering on the board is a no no

The warranty is not voided if you open the case. How can you replace yourself the fan or dust it out yourself if it was the case ?
I have exactly the same problem, after a jump, my case just opened, and I didn't see it immediatly, that result in a total cut ===> the brown wire which goes to receiver unsoldered of the plate of the ESC :( :(
I will send it in warranty, and will see if the warranty works or not, but I hope it works.
Anyway its a well know problem. You have to securize the case to prevent it to open itslef on shocks... And I forget that :(
I think this is the only way to kill a Mamba Monster ^^ I have already bought a new one, this way I will have some back ESC just in case ;)
