Help finding batteries... - 04.10.2010, 12:20 PM

OK all...I am looking for batteries that are not the normal stick pack configuration. But instead something more or less like a square.

Specifically 4s 4k ...I need this configuration for a project I am working on.

Something like these...just not as big..http://www.truerc.com/index.php?main...products_id=66

Thanks,
Brian

What about using multiple packs and wire and heat shrink them into the square shape, like using two 4s 2000mah packs side by side wired in a 4s2p configuration. Or four 4s 1000mah packs wired into a 4s4p configuration.

EDIT: Just looked at a Turnigy 4s 1000mah pack, if you put 4 side by side it would be 74mm x 96mm, pretty close to a square shape.

Can we get a hint or preview of what the project will be?

It will be a Mugen MRX-3 on road conversion...with Monster Mike's personal touches of course

One was done recently and it inspired me. 4 of my friend's have the same car but, in nitro form. I can't wait to see their faces when I show up this summer w/an electric one!

Looking at a 2250 Tekin motor w/a RX8 on 4s. It should fly on 4s and be silky smooth

The hard part is finding the right 2 batteries to fit in a very tight space. Mike will take care of the motor mount and esc shelf for me

FYI, Dan at True RC can and will make custom packs.

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

I was looking at his web site the other day and saw the 16000mah packs! That is exactly what I am looking for only smaller. We shall see exactly how much room I have after everything else is mounted.

Dans a nice guy to deal with, I bought a lot lipos from him over the years. Was mostly smaller stuff for my Helis and planes and 1/16,1/32 scale trucks. He also custom made all my balancing wires with various plugs for my applications.

Sounds good..thanks a bunch! If he can make me what I am looking for I will be ecstatic.

My final challenge will be how to remove the batteries quickly/easily once they are inside some kind of tray due the fact that they will not be able to be lifted out..only slid out
