A small, symbolic victory against 'the man'.

Sad thing is, around the town where I live we used to have a local parking enforcement officer who was great, showed compassion and common sense with regards to handing out tickets to only those who actually deserved or warrented one ( wouldnt ticket a disabled persons car, or a doctor on call, or a builder's van parked up to unload/ load etc ). Nower days though we have a team of mofos who will ticket anyone and everyone with no regard for whether they actually warrent a ticket ( a doctor on call has to park as near as possible to the person's house who he is call out to visit, so parking on a pavement or double-yellow lines often happens ). Its caused alot of ill feeling in the town, but hopefully something will be done about the lack of parking soon, though I dont much like the current plan for turning half of my normal bash-site into a car park...

haha, nice!

one small 'party town' near me is completely out of control. the meter police have digital pads that alert them when they pass a meter that's expired. they don't even have to look!

Great resolve. - 04.09.2010, 10:23 PM

Thanks for sharing PBO. I like the way you wrote that up for them to review. Your case is surely evidence that someone needs a kick in the @$$, and at least you received a good resolution in your case.

Bashing meter readers in general is a terrible way to look at this issue. We all have a job to do no matter what that job might be. Writing up parking tickets, cleaning toilets, of taking out the trash. Some day we will have automated systems that automatically charge our credit cards when we park. You have to admit that some people are just plain stupid when it comes to where and how they park their vehicles. And yes the parking systems have a lot to be desired in some cities and towns. If you don't want a ticket, then don't park illegally. Even a 16 year old kid can understand that simple rule.

When one of our 4 daughters began driving a few years back she ran up a couple grand in moving and parking tickets that ended up on my wife's liciense because the car was in her name. We immediately transfered responsibility of that car over to her and made her deal with the mess. After having to pay for all of it she has not received one ticket since. Double parking or parking without paying in paid parking is against the law. Why bash the meter readers? PBO's case was simply one of dealing with a moron and he received a good outcome because he dealt with it the way it should have been handled.

SUPERMAXX YOUR LIFE.

Ha Ha Ha

One night we went out on the town and I had already been drinking so I had a roommate drive my truck. I went and paid for the space and might have been slightly intoxicated already bought a ticket for the wrong space. None the less they wrote me a ticket for being one space off.. I had to call and explain what I did but they removed the ticket after I sent them a copy of the ticket I had. I love the ticket Nazi people!
