Brushless mad force with 3 speed? - 04.24.2010, 10:08 AM

as title, i just recieved a mad force and its nitro... yuck,

ideally i would like to keep it as a 3 speed, as their cool ;)

i'm thinking elektriclutch and custom motor mount, i will be running 4s but i'm not really sure what motor to go for, i was thinking something in the reigon of 2000kv, should that give me similar performance to the gx21 thats in it at the moment?

MMM 2200kv, 4s lipo, direct pinion would be best for an mt. But multi speed transmissions are not good for brushless conversion because the added impact of the transmission shifting when your yankin' the trigger is gonna tear stuff apart.. look up any savage that retained the stock transmission and you will see the problem first hand.

Brakeclean, or dentured alcohol, let it dry out

Aggreed, and if this happens to you when bashing use a little bit of nitro fuel and let it dry out.

A direct drive woudlnt be that difficult though- you could still use the teknorc motor mount, then just use a long-shank pinion to make it reach the spur& mesh correctly.
