What an awesome concept. If it need more power you can always get a 550 can brushless motor on that transition. At that weight a Novak HV set up I would think could do well.

I want to have that guy's babies so that he can give me the blueprints for the chassis.

I'm seriously considering doing something like that as my next project.

Very cool, but he really thinks that Velineon motor is enough? Also, stock shocks seem like they might not be up to the job.

You are a dude, you can't have babies. What do they teach you kids in school?

You don't get taught anything useful attending public schools in north america... I thought you already knew that.

Very nice job, but using a Slash as the drivetrain?? I mean, the Slash/Pede/Rusty has got to be one of the crappiest (and oldest) designs out there. The diffs alone are weak and poorly designed (the bearings do not support the diff, just the outdrive). Personally, I would have went with a truggy rear-end, shorten the rear center axle (so the spur is closer to the rear diff), and use something like an RCM motor mount setup. Motor on one side, ESC on the other, and a whole lotta room for batteries...

Certainly looks cool, and the chassis is nice... but I also don't get the cheap drive-train & suspension choice.

If you're dumping that much into the custom chassis, put something good on it.

I whole heartedly agree with the drivetrain & suspension choice not being upto much- maybe a MRC Thunderking would have made a better choice...

As a concept though, building a ~7lb 1/5 scale buggy with 99% of the looks of a real 5b, its pretty impressive work.

I agree with you there! Just the amount of work I put into my desert slash, I can imagine the time and planning needed for something to come out looking that good!
