Xray XT8, to buy it or not? - 05.03.2010, 11:51 AM

Help me out guys

Iīve been looking for a decent truggy to convert for a while now and Iīve recieved an offer to buy a used Xray XT8 for 1100 swedish crowns (equals about 135-140$). Is it a good offer? Itīs about two years old and seems to be in pretty good shape

I would really like you opinion before I go ahead and buy it so please help me out here

I really like my XT8, but it seems like I'm always breaking something on it; notably the rear lower hinge pins (on the wheel hub), and the front arms. The rear pins seems to bend fairly easily when taking decent jumps (but not too crazy) which throws camber/toe way off. The front arms seem to be pretty delicate as well. Yeah, I hit things now and then, or land funny from a jump, but all my other vehicles seem to take the same abuse much better.

is it nitro, or already converted to brushless? or a roller? an '09 spec?

if it's not an '09 spec and is just a roller, that's probably a fair price. if it has a motor, or is '09+ spec, it's a steal.

others have slightly less than positive things to say about it, but i love mine!

I donīt think itīs a ī09 spec but the seller told me that it has got the same chassies as the latest model

Here, take a look at it. The ad is in swedish but you donīt have to know swedish to look at the pics

The truck looks to be in decent shape, but like all used vehicles, you want to make sure the diffs are ok. Would suck to have to spend ~$75 (or more) on three new diffs.+

I live in norway, so we have the almost same market prices for used rc, and I'd say buy it. It looks great, and from my experience much worse looking cars can be gems with a few new bearings and gaskets and such.
