How about an RC-Monster HV 160 batch? -
06.05.2010, 09:06 AM
Patrick, I know that Castle is behind on production, but how about a quick, special run of about 50 HV160 car controllers for your friends here at the Monster? You could squeeze it in between regular production runs and I'm sure it would sell out. A lot of people here would buy it right away. Pretty please, with sugar on top?

I too, would snatch one up in a heartbeat.
But.............I'm beginning to think this whole HV Mamba thing has become like beating a dead horse.

They (castle) said it would come. I believe them. I have an LST and the world's fastest 1521 waiting on one of these esc's myself.
Also, they can't make a "quick run" until they have a production ready unit in their hands. I believe they're still beta testing?
Patience. We saw this with the MMM. Then the 2200/kv and 2650/kv castle-nues. Then the MMP. Then the 1518,1520 and 1717. Then the 5mm 1717 rotor.
Castle does what it says.
How long would it take you (anybody) to build a 12s esc with car software and data logging?
I prefer waiting and getting a better product.

Well said, I think some of us just get to greedy and expect Castle to pull miracles out there rear

+1...
Also, im not asking castle to release this tomorrow or demanding them to work any faster and compromise quality... I just want and update on the stage its at, and maybe a little insight into how their testing results are fairing etc...

They recently said "we barely scratch the surface of brushless technology".
I won't be surprised if they are at the moment beta-testing a new motor, like a 1524/1Y ^^

MBX5T Prospec MMv3 NEU-CC 1520/1Y 6S "Overkill Flying machine" ;)
Brushless, what else ?

This is just speculation, but I don't think it would be very good PR for them to do a special run for a small group of people. Next thing you know every group of car, boat, and plane guys might expect Castle to drop what they are doing for special projects, saying "Well you made a special run of controllers for them, what about us?". It would really put Castle behind the 8-ball.
I'm sure the HV ICE car controllers will come soon enough.

Anxious to build a 10S Savage 5T myself, can't do it without Castles help ?
But I'd rather wait till it's really ready and not compromise anything.
But some sort of update or Beta results would be nice, wink wink.
I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

Mike ran one in his Baja with electric braking on 8s with the 1527 - no matter how had he beat it the motor temp was the limiting factor...
ESC took everything in its stride...

Well, to give a status update--
We have a minor issue with startup on the HV-160 car controller, but a software fix is in the works.
And we are still waiting on extrusions for the case. We can't build them until we have the extrusions.
