Which rotor for HV 7.5 in CRT .5 conversion? - 07.11.2010, 08:06 PM

I will be running the HV 7.5 in my CRT .5 on 3S. It will be a bashing vehicle, no racing.

Should I stick with the standard 12.3mm rotor, or would there be any benefit from swapping to the 14mm "tuning" rotor?

I generally run little to no drag brake, and medium to low "punch" control, if that makes any difference.

I run a 7.5HV on 3S in a CRT.5 and I use the standard 12.3MM rotor. It is plenty fast for a track, it runs cool, and has more than sufficient brakes. I'm using a 14T pinion with the standard size spur on the center diff for use with truck (not buggy) size tires. For bashing you might want to gear up a little. The motor runs cool enough I am sure you could go up a tooth or two from the 14. This is with a Havoc 3S controller, so I'm not fiddling with punch control or drag brake.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll stick with the 12.3mm for now, and maybe next time I have some extra cash I'll get one of the 14mm just to see how it affects the performance.
