MMM no longer arming? - 07.09.2010, 01:20 AM

Ran my muggy conversion for the first time today. Took it to the track and landed a jump a little to hard I guess and the case on my MMM came apart. Popped it back together and tried to run again but all i was getting was voltage from the BEC. No response from the speedo at all. Thing something got jogged loose or its best to just send it off to CC? I just don't want to wait for the turnaround time for it to be repaired/replaced Thanks in advance,

Daniel

I'd say it was the switch, but in that case you wouldn't get any BEC response. So no motor noises at all? Will it connect through Castle Link? I'm sure something got knocked loose, but if it's still under warranty then I'd just send it to CC.

It happens to me one time, my ESC opened itself and some wires were cut off... I had no choice but to send it back in warranty. Since this accident i always oversecure my ESC with tape and ensare it.
Good luck.

Yeah I usually run my other MMM's with a ziptie around the case. Lesson learned.

At least it died a quiet death. I'd much rather have that happen than it going out in a ball of flame taking everything nearby with it...

Self-desctruct mechanism is to prevent the enemy from getting their hands on the esc if it becomes inoperable ( like scuttling a ship or nuclear sub )...

I would like CC products even more if such a thing was actually part of the programming.

I bought and mounted up a MMP to shave some weight from the buggy. Looks like the BEC isn't up to the task though. Under accel from around low to medium speed it stutters as if the voltage drops too low for the FASST for a second and then picks back up. Anyone know if using a cap such as the Spektrum one would do the trick? Or simply run an external BEC and call it a day?

EDIT: I searched for something on that topic and found the answer. My JR 9100T= amp hog. I need a cap lol.

Yes, others (including myself) have experienced the same issue. The cap has helped, but it hasn't gotten rid of the stutters completely. I'm going to install a CC BEC when I get a chance.

Can you believe that out of the 8 LHS's I called NONE had a spektrum cap? And radio shack doesn't have the proper size caps either.

One or two of these should work: http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...tic+capacitors

They are rated 35v, which is much higher than you need, but it will work...
