FLM LST shock conversion - Maxx problem

I had some LST shocks kicking round and found some LST shock adapters fpr Maxx / Savage on Mike's site I ordered these and the required shock towers and was $%%##%^ dissapointed to find that they do not fit. The stuff took just under a month to arrive - it shipped direct from flm and the lst standoffs say t& E maxx / savagehas anyone managed to get these to fit - warming up dremel as I write this...

I'm sorry to inform you, but it is not simply a bolt on kit for maxx trucks. A lot of modification is necessary.

The only way I've seen it done on a maxx is to cut out the forward shock hole on both front and rear upper a-arms. It was done with aluminum a-arms.

You will also have to devise a way to mount the shock to the lower a-arm.

I knew I'd have to make some mods just used to flm parts made for each other actually fitting, got an email from FLM saying "slight modifications" to make them fit would not void my warranty.
I'm using (fingers crossed) an integy evo 4 upper A arm with a RPM true trac lower arm - I've drilled the rpm arm outboard of the regular shock mounts and the shock fits nicely
By the way this maxx is going to be 80 cm long and its running a castle neu 1717 with lots of cells

80CM LONGER? Thats like 40" longer, which would make your truck about 58" long. Are you sure that you did not mean 80mm longer?

Anyway it sounds like you are going to an aweful lot of trouble just to use these shocks. It would have been easier to use the UE SuperMaxx shock, and they are in stock. Not that I am aposed to making mods. I love seeing a good mod done to trucks if it is done right, and looks good in the end. Although your combination of RPM and Integy sounds a little bit strange to me. Just saying.

I said 80 cm LONG not longer my workbench isnt 58" long
I am scratch building an E baja 1/5 scale, as far as I know supermaxx shocks do not have readily available super heavy springs. Ive found some good ones for the losi shocks.
Check out the integy upper arms and you will see why I'm using them - No mods required for clearance - If they bust I'll try and get something machined up out of something stronger plus this mod looks good!
