Yet another E-XXL - 08.17.2010, 04:56 PM

It took a while but I'm finally able to post it.

Tried the Losi conversion set the way they say to do it.....didn't work, way to much weight in the back.

A few minutes with a dremel, and I've got a battery tray and ESC mount.

After a total of 5 minutes the Xcelorin ESC quit on me. It would just stutter when trying to start. Once in a while it would get going if you gave the truck a push. but no power really, like the EPA were at 60%.

So today I got this in the mail. the 1515/1Y fits nice and snug in the Losi mount. It's actually like it was made for it.

Just when I had finished up installing the Mamba Monster(truck has been idle for more than a month) the fricken sky opens up and dumps three days of rain in 5 hours. Just my luck.

Oh and here's a few shots of a Strike body I painted up for it. It looks a little jacked up but hey, real monster trucks are jacked up like that, besides it looks cool as feck going 40mph down the street with two feet in the air.

Thanks. It took me a lot of research to get to the point of deciding to convert it. I may end up putting the Xcelorin(when I get it back, LHS is not the quickest or sharpest tool in the drawer) in my 8ight EU for next season. Although I do love the sound of a pissed of nitro mill.

Looks really tidy- no issues installing the MMM motor in the losi mount? I know a few guys were wandering if it would fit or not- I'll assume it does

No problem whatsoever, other than colour coordination.

I'm waiting for an email from THE DUDE as we speak. The motor mounts will be available today once they go through his QC.I ordered the single speed hub last week and he is holding it until he ships my mount.

Looks good, nice to know the cc motors will fit the losi mount. I have a NIB losi kit sitting here, might make its way into a lst something or other. Front battery mounting is the way to go, and plenty of room on the xxl chassis. Maybe that is what my lst needs... I still want to go with a single servo, and the muggy steering setup so I will have to make my own chassis.

Body looks great, nice paint job!

Front mounted battery for sure, I never was a fan of how Losi wants you to mount the ESC as pretty much the highest point on the truck. Nothing but the roof of the body to protect it. Hmmmm

Body was nice, until I ran it once. I'm really peeved that the paint I got was so horrible. 5 minutes of slow driving and I can already see cobwebs in the paint.

Ultimate Racing Colours get's a thumbs down from me.
